Adsorption filters or elements only purpose is to remove and clarify impurities from a substance. Adsorption is the process of where molecules from a substance, could be a gas, liquid, or a solid adhere to the absorbant. This is particularly important when these are designed for compressors, refrigeration, or turbine applications. Adsorption elements remove surfactants such as gums, waxes, or other oxidation products from the hydrocarbon liquid.
